Acton Academy Lanark

Acton Lanark is one of over 300 Acton Academies worldwide. We serve learners aged 6 to 12, and will be expanding to include a Middle School and Launchpad (our high school) as our learners age in the coming years. We offer a learner-driven education that connects academic growth with real-world experiences and a deep appreciation for nature.

At Acton, we place curiosity and independence at the heart of everything we do. Our learners embark on their own Hero’s Journey, discovering their unique gifts and building the confidence and skills they need to thrive. Our program includes Socratic discussions, hands-on Quests, and enrichment opportunities like outdoor education, drama, art, entrepreneurship, and science projects.

Our school is located in the lilac capital of Ontario and our school grounds is the site of an annual Lilac Festival. We take advantage of our beautiful natural surroundings to devote one day a week towards outdoor education. Our building is the original one-room school house for the area built in the 1800s, and we are continuing the legacy of learning in this space to create our one-room schoolhouse for the 21st century!

With a blend of the natural world and innovative learning, Acton Academy Lanark is a place where young people learn to work and play hard, think critically, solve real-world problems, and develop a lifelong love of learning.
